Calculating Axel Size

WE REQUIRE YOU MEASURE 3 VITAL MEASUREMENTS IN ORDER TO MANUFACTURE YOUR SPECIAL AXLE

                                                                                            Add Extensions

( A )   My Chassis width is…………………..mm                               x1 = ……………mm
The total maximum width of the chassis that the wheels are expected to clear

( B )  My gap between tyre and chassis is ………..…..mm              x2 =…………..mm
30mm to 50mm is recommended on each side

( C )  My rim backspace is  …………………..mm                              x2 = …………mm

To measure this distance the tyre must be on the rim and inflated to required operating pressure. lay the wheel on flat ground with the side facing up that you would see if it were on the completed trailer. With a tape, measure the distance from the ground to the top side of where the wheel nut tightens to the rim.
This is called “ BACKSPACE “.

( D ) Hub Nose
Using Standard Trailer Hubs LM or SL ……….55mm                       x2 = ….…...110  mm

Total Axle length  = Tip To Tip  ( +1 -5mm)                                        ………………….mm
If you are using non standard hubs please advise bearing numbers   Inner…………………    Outer…………………….
